Specialized's Fuse is all about providing the biggest bang for your buck, taking sleek design, modern technologies and a taste for adventure and creating a bike that just wants to have fun.
The heart of the Fuse is a totally new aluminium frame featuring everything a modern mountain bike should: slack head angle for downhill confidence, steep seat angle for climbing efficiency, internal cable routing for reliability and neatness, low standover height for manoeuvrability, and clearance for big tyres. The short-offset 130mm travel RockShox suspension fork is air sprung and with chunky stanchions, it offers strength and precision when riding rough terrain. Taken together, the chassis of the Fuse is perfectly suited to lighting up the trails.
Large-volume tyres create stacks of grip in all conditions and all trails. Whether climbing sketchy slopes or descending tricky, rocky, rooty, slippy, off-camber trails you can ride with confidence. The large volume does a great job of minimising small bumps in the trail allowing you to concentrate on the bigger obstacles while the aggressive tread digs in nicely so you can enjoy every moment.
SRAM provide a 1x12 speed drivetrain which is a great design based on their top-level components. A reliable setup with a super wide 11-50T cassette means there's enough variation to get up the toughest climbs yet still crank it out on fast fire roads, all controlled by slick trigger shifters. SRAM Level TRL hydraulic disc brakes with a large 200mm rotor on larger sizes up front gives enough control to reign it all in when your speed gets out of hand. A wide 780mm bar, short stem and smooth dropper seatpost make up a finishing kit which meets the capabilities of the chassis. Put it all together and you've got a bike ready for some serious terrain and lots of off-road fun.
The Fuse is a new generation of hardtail that prioritises incredible handling and descending prowess. If you want to ride in the forest, seek out new trails, and ride for pure unadulterated enjoyment, the Fuse should be top of your list.
