The Bridgedale Hike Midweight Comfort features all-day protection with next-to-skin comfort. Merino Comfort Fusion Technology creates a soft, fast-drying, durable sock with a close supportive fit around your foot. The super stretch ribbed cuff provides a looser unrestrictive fit around your calf allowing it to be worn up or down. The engineered zonal padding system provides extra support and comfort throughout the foot bed for long comfortable days in the hills. The Flat Toe Seam minimises bulk that could cause irritation in the toe box and the sock is kept securely in place with an engineered Women’s Specific Fit, Elasticated Arch and 3D-shaped heel cup. Built on a structure of Lycra® and set by our Thermo Fit process ensures the sock returns to its original shape and size after every wash.

Eco Odour Control Technology
The way that we look after our clothes once we take them home can make a big impact, and this includes how often we wash them. Skipping just one out of ten washes leads to a reduction in total toxicity, lower CO2 emissions, and the release of fewer microplastics. Odour control technologies like POLYGIENE and naturally odour resistant fabrics like merino wool can help to reduce the number of times that we wash a garment by keeping it fresher for longer, in turn making it last longer.

Natural Fibres
Products using natural fibres can range from cotton to wool to hemp and silk - but by being naturally made, they will also naturally biodegrade at their end of lifecycle. Even if you have a natural fibre product, it can probably still be recycled or repurposed before being disposed of. However, if it truly has reached the end of its use, natural fibres need air to biodegrade so please don't dispose of them in landfill.

Responsibly Sourced Merino
Merino wool is a high-performing natural fibre that will biodegrade at the end of its lifecycle, however, sheep can often be subjected to inhumane practices like mulesing if unmonitored. ZQ is the most widely established merino wool certification standard, and follows five principles: the best animal welfare, environmental integrity, social responsibility, fibre quality and traceability standards. Sheep must graze free range, be given their Five Freedoms (freedom from hunger and thirst; from discomfort; from pain, injury or disease; to express normal behaviour; and from fear and distress) and are not subject to mulesing. Note that not all responsibly sourced merino will be ZQ certified.
