EICA are hosting the World Cup this weekend so all climbing functions are running on reduced hours. The store will be following this timetable too.
Set within one of the biggest indoor climbing arenas in Europe, Tiso Ratho boasts an fantastic selection of specialist climbing equipment.
Along with the usual Tiso outdoor brands, we also have Scotland's largest range of technical climbing gear and an unrivalled collection of rock shoes. Our staff (who are all climbers in their spare time) have years of experience, and will ensure the right fit for your foot.
We also provide hire equipment for use within the climbing arena itself. Feel free to get in touch with us if you'd like any further information!
I used to come to EICA climbing, and I loved talking to the staff at the store. So when a job came up at Tiso, I jumped at the chance and have been here ever since… 7 years later!
Having a love of climbing is essential in my day-to-day job. If you’re not a climber, you can’t really understand climbing equipment. So be able to sell the right stuff, you have to know what it’s for – so we’re all climbers here!
I took up climbing quite late. I was in my mid- to late-thirties, and got obsessed with it really quickly! So I really enjoy selling people things for their hobby, and helping them choose what’s going to be absolutely right for them.
I hung around long enough until the job came up, basically! I’ve been at Tiso Ratho for 5 years. I’m a big climber and have been for about a decade. I live for the weekends and doing stuff: climbing, hiking, biking, skiing…
My friend began climbing so I joined in. I did lots of Munro bagging when I was younger too. Lots of biking because it was the only way to get around without a car – mostly road! I don’t do any competitions though.
My perfect day involves getting up, going out on the hills… An ideal day means not seeing anyone else! If I was going climbing, I’d probably go to Glen Coe or the Cairngorms.
